In addition to its regular private lessons, String Theory offers a variety of programs throughout the summer to accommodate your busy schedule.

This Summer, we will be working to give you the most flexibility for your summer music experience.  Like last summer, you will be allowed to “free schedule" your private lessons in advance of the session to accommodate vacations, camps, etc.   

You must have established your schedule by the start of your session, as there will not be a guarantee of makeups for missed summer lessons, although we will do our best as always.  You will also be allowed to schedule multiple private lessons per week and to combine these lessons with our other programs to create “camp schedules” for your student provided the instructor has the time in their schedule.

Please review your program options listed below, and return your registration form (see our downloads page) to secure your places in our summer schedule.  Feel free to call us with any questions.  Please note that there are no Saturday ensembles scheduled for the summer session.  We will  revisit our Saturday band schedule for the fall.  Feel free to give us a call for any additional information!

Classical Guitar Ensemble:
Thursday  Evenings from 8 to 9 PM
This program is complimentary for all guitar students.  Private instruction is necessary.

Percussion Ensemble:
Wednesday  Evenings from 6 to 7 PM
This program is ideal for all percussionists.  The program is designed to provide students with the opportunity to explore percussion in a fun group setting.  Prepare to perform at our August coffee house.  Private instruction is necessary.

Jazz Band: 
Wednesday Evenings 8 to 9 PM
Rehearse and perform jazz pieces for our monthly coffee houses.  Ideal for intermediate to advanced students.
(limit: 5 students)

Adult Rock Band:
Monday Evenings from 8 to 9 PM
This program is ideal for all adults.  Learn rock and blues songs in a group setting to perform at our August coffee house!  Private instruction is necessary. (limit: 5 students)

Beginner Rock Band:
Thursday Evenings from 5 to 6 PM
This program is ideal for total beginners ages 8 to 10.  Learn simple rock songs in a group setting to perform at our August coffee house!  Private instruction is necessary. (limit: 5 students)

Youth Rock Band:
Monday through Friday    2 to 3 PM
Rehearse and perform rock and blues pieces for our August coffee house.  Ideal for all levels ages 10 and over.  Private instruction is necessary.     (limit: 5 students per band)
**Please note - if you have a group of students you'd like to work with, be sure to talk to us and your friends about which weeks you want.  We will do our best to accommodate you, but we will schedule on a first come first serve basis.

Pop Vocals - Pop Vocals is back! Do you give a concert each time you get into your car and turn on the radio? If so, String Theory has the perfect singing group for you!
Learn the basics of harmony and singing with other voices. This group is open to singers of all ability levels who just want to sing!!  Song selection will include popular tunes easily accessible to everyone. We will prepare to perform at our August Coffee House.

Pop Vocals Weekly Session - Thursdays, June 28th through August 23rd  - 6:30 to 7:30 PM
Tuition: $280 / 8 weeks / 60 minutes  Registration fee: $25

Songwriter's Workshop - This program is for students who have ideas for songs and need help developing their pieces.  Josi Davis will guide small groups through the process.  Students are encouraged to perform their songs at our August coffee house. (limit: 5 students per session)

Kinderbands! -  This general music program for small groups of kids age 2 to 6 meets weekly for thirty minutes.  Try the most unique musical opportunity around for our tiniest students!  Offerings are expanded according to demand.  These are small groups of no more than four students at a time, so call us for the most complete schedule information.

Performance Workshop for Girls –  No matter what instrument you play, your presence on the stage is crucial to the success of  your performance.  Let us help you hone your  skills including stage presence, confidence building,  and the do's and don'ts of performance.    Experiment with what works and what doesn't in a friendly and supportive environment.  Learn how every member of a band contributes to the full experience.  Students will share their own chosen performance pieces in addition to working on instructor chosen material.

The Art Miles Mural Project “Music Mile” Camp – The Art Miles Mural Project is an international Guinness Book of World Records UNESCO supported art project dedicated to the promotion of peace and and understanding among children from all over the world.  String Theory has supported the Music Mile by painting murals at fairs, festivals, schools, and colleges across the state.  This summer, we are pleased to announce our week long Music Mile camp.  Your student will spend three hours per day for five days exploring the diverse spectrum of global music and instruments that have contributed to America's spectacular modern sound.  We will use this knowledge to design and paint our own twelve foot mural to send to California to be included in this amazing ever expanding body of work!  We will display our murals at our August Coffee House before shipping them out.  We will also take photos and write about our experience to share with Art Milers around the globe on the web.  Join us for this fun way to explore art and music!
